Classes are an excellent way to advance your dog's training that is efficient and cost-effective. Classes are taught in an outdoor, group setting with a scheduled and structured nature. All courses fundamentally rest on Ideal Dog's Training Triad with the goal of teaching OWNERS how to teach their DOGS.
(Please contact the Hurlburt Field Outdoor Recreation Center for class offerings and registration.)
- Loose-Leash Walking Course: A 3-lesson course focused entirely on teaching your dog to walk calmly next to you on leash! Say good bye to the barking, sniffing, marking, lunging, pulling, and zig-zag walks!
- Basic Obedience Course: This 5-lesson course teaches you how to teach your dog the foundations of obedience: loose-leash walking, sit, down, stay, place, and come. Perfect for any dog at least 6 months old.
- Canine Good Citizen Course: This 9-lesson course that takes the dog from zero to hero! Dogs learn basic obedience commands like SIT, DOWN, STAY, COME, HEEL, LEAVE IT, and other polite behaviors like not barking or jumping and accepting affection from others. At the end of the course they will have the opportunity to take the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Test and earn their official “CGC” title! This title is widely recognized as the “gold standard” for basic canine obedience in the United States.
ALL CLASSES HELD AT HURLBURT FIELD'S OUTDOOR RECREATION CENTER.
